One of the great things about the Internet is that it opens up heaps of great opportunities for us. Opportunities that, as little as just a decade ago were not available.
For example; Internet share trading is something that has really taken off over the past few years. Gone are the days where you would need to call your stock broker on the telephone to place your order, and then have to wait in hope that he heard you correctly, and that your order was placed to the market as per your instruction.
In the past, you would need to call your broker, talk for some time about what shares to buy, or what was happening on the trading floor. You would then act on his advice and place a trade with him. He would then place your order to the market, and either call you back with a confirmation, or worse still, you would wait for a few days until you received your confirmation slip in the mail.
These days of course, with the thanks to Internet share trading, this is all done instantaneously. You simply login to your online account, select the shares that you wish to purchase, along with both the quantity that you wish to purchase, as well as the amount that you wish to pay for each share. Your order is then sent directly to the stock market, and you are sent a trading confirmation via email, SMS, or text message.
Obviously, this takes a lot of the work out of trading, and has opened up the game for all of us. In order to get started, all you need is a computer, an Internet connection, and share trading account setup, and your in business.
I first started trading shares on the Internet about 10 years ago, and I've never looked back. For the past 5 years I've also been teaching others how to get started, and what to look out for.
